Why is the record so light?
The key lies in the material: Albasia wood , also known as Albizia or Paraserianthes falcataria , is an extremely lightweight wood with low density. The cell structure of this fast-growing tropical tree ensures that our plywood panels weigh significantly less than conventional panels – while maintaining the same stability.
Albasia grows in Indonesia , where degraded and deforested areas are being reforested. Thanks to the tropical climate with plenty of sun and rain, the tree grows particularly quickly – perfect for sustainable lightweight construction.
Is it sustainable? Absolutely.
We are committed to genuine climate protection. Thanks to our partnership with Fairventures , we plant six new trees for every tree we cut down. Our Albasia plantations sequester more CO₂ than is emitted during production and transport – making our panels climate-neutral .

epicPLY multiplex panels with HPL coating as a worktop?
The epicPLY multiplex panel with HPL coating is approved for vertical use. This means we do not recommend it for use as a worktop or tabletop. For these applications, we can confidently recommend the epicPLY multiplex panel with AFX coating, as its properties make it suitable for horizontal use.
What is the difference between satin matte and pearl matte finishes on HPL surfaces?
-
Satin matte : This surface has a silky matte finish and is completely smooth . It looks particularly elegant and calm – ideal for modern, minimalist designs.
-
Pearl matte : In contrast, pearl matte has a finely structured surface . It gives the material a subtle feel and diffuses light softly.

*Important note regarding the record format:
Our epicPLY panels come in the standard size of 242 x 120 cm. However, to ensure you can use the full, undamaged surface, we ship them in a slightly larger format of 243 x 121 cm. During transport, minor damage or indentations may occur on the outer edges, for example, from securing them with straps. These small imperfections do not affect the quality or function of the panel and therefore do not constitute grounds for a complaint. Should such minor damage occur, you can simply cut the panel to the specified size and thus utilize the full, undamaged surface for your project. And if everything arrives in perfect condition, you've simply received a little extra panel as a gift from us!
